Walter Fink weighed in a five fish limit to win the tournament with a total of twelve pound three ounce. Half of his catch was composed of this six pound four ounce lunker Trout. Walt caught all his fish on a blue Bass Assassin or a miro-lure while fishing from Galvez Landing.

Michael Gaines also weighed in a total of five fish weighing a total of eleven pounds twelve ounces to place second.

Sam Wolfe caught four Specks with a total weight of six pounds, twelve ounces. Which was large enough to place first in the tournament. For once the weather was picture perfect. The day started off with no wind and as the morning warmed the wind increased keeping everyone comfortable.

Ken Cube is d'man, He won all the cash prizes with these two fish. The red on his right weighed four pounds, four ounces and the Speck three pounds fourteen ounces.

Galvez landing produced a bumper crop of Specks this tournament. Kurt weighed in a five fish limit weighing a total of ten pounds fourteen ounces. A little math and each trout averaged more than two pounds. An impressive catch for Kurt.

Tom Rogers strikes again with a four pound eight ounce speck. Numerous fish were caught that weighed up to four pounds, but Tom's fish was the largest.

Although a small fish, the smile on Dale Johnfore's face is a record. The Spanish Mackerel were not up to standards, so it only took a fish weighing one pound two ounces to win the side pot.  The club also caught Flounder and Redfish this day.

The club President, Tom Rogers,  displayed the proper technique in winning a tournament. Notice the strain on his face from holding his catch for the photo. Fishing out of Shoreline Park, Tom weighed in a five trout limit of eight pounds two ounces.

Tom Rogers and Dave Frazier shared the big fish pot by entering a set of cloned Specks which weighed a total of three pounds five ounces each.

Kurt Hammerschmidt dominated the tournament with a five fish limit weighing a total of nine pounds eight ounces. Included was the big fish of the day, a two pound twelve ounce Speck. Kurt caught all his fish using Mirrolure's Catch 2000 jr.

For the first time in the history of the club, three members won the tournament, Tom Rogers, Yale Coleman, and Ed Frazier each weighed in two fish with an identical total  weight of two pounds and seven ounces. It was suggested that one shirt be imprinted with their names and then rotated between them as winners of the tournament. 
For some reason this did not sit well with them.

Greg Hall continues his streak of winning either the side pot or in this case the large trout bet. His two pound three ounce Speck was the largest boated during the tournament. Greg caught the Speck using a Gulp lure.

Mike Gaines weighed in four Trout for a total weight of five pounds eleven ounces. Mike caught all his trout with Gulp lures. He stated that the Trout were so aggressive in attacking them that he went through five packs. Wal-Mart sent their personal thanks to Mike for his patronage.  Second place went to "always a brides maid" Yale Coleman.

Mike Gaines and Kurt Hammerschmidt each weighed in an identical one pound thirteen ounce Speck to split the big fish pot. The Flounder side bet went unclaimed.

Mike Smith weighed in three fish to take the tournament. His total was only four pounds and six ounces which is indicative of the poor quality of fishing this year. The heat index was in the 100 degree area by ten in the morning and only got worse the closer it got to noon. Cooler temperatures are in the forecast for September and hopefully the fishing will improve, although Mike says it is great right now.

Tom Rogers boated a six pound six ounce Red to take the side bet pot. Tom stayed in one spot all morning, within sight of the ramp, and caught both Reds and Trout. Who says you need a 100HP motor and go-fast boat to win. Alex Gaines , a guest of his uncle Mike, weighed in a two pound thirteen ounces Speck. Mike gave Alex his favorite lure and Alex returned the favor by catching all the Trout.

Sam Wolfe and Tom Rogers teamed up to sweep the "Team Tournament" competition. Together the weighed in five fish each which totaled fourteen pounds eleven ounces.

Sam Wolfe won the tournament and the big fish pot with an impressive four fish stringer which weighed a total of eight pounds fourteen ounces. His largest Speck weighed three pounds and nine ounces. Sam caught all his fish on the High Roller lure, while fishing in deep water at the edge of the grass flats

Greg Hall boated a four pound eleven ounce Red Fish that was the side bet and had rolled over from last tournament. He had already released a undersized one and caught them both using an Exude plastic lure , Greg was casting to schools of Mullet and allowed the lure to sink below them.

Ed Frazier won the tournament with the help of his grandson Sam Frazier. He weighed in three Trout which weighed a total of seven pounds twelve ounces. Dave Frazier, who was also fishing with Ed, boated the big fish weighing three pounds ten ounces. The Redfish side bet went unclaimed and will roll over to the next tournament.

Dale Johnfore filled out his bag limit with a total weight of 10.35 pounds. Dale said he caught all his fish early in the tournament and was fishing in eight to ten feet of water.
There was a loud discussion concerning a "Honorable Mention Award" for Don Suarez for cleaning fish even though he did not fish in the tournament. It was decided that the thrill of being in contact with real fishermen was award enough.

Gregor Rorison won the  side bet with a 2.3 pound Flounder. Gregor used a soft plastic lure to catch this fine Flounder.

Dave Frazier boated a five fish limit weighing a total of 8.8 lbs. Dave found the fish in a hole near the EPA station while fishing with Ed Frazier. All of their fish were caught using live shrimp.

The morning started cold but soon warmed up for Ken Cube. He won the tournament with a five fish limit weighing a total of nine pounds fifteen ounces. His largest fish  (2# 13oz) was enough to take the big fish pot. This was the last tournament for 2005 and Sam Wolfe has now cinched the club's first place position .

Wendell Hood and Ken Cube boated a total of nine fish weighing eighteen pounds four ounces. This was enough to take the team tournament prize.

After a delay of one week due to inclement weather, Sam Wolfe displayed his fishing talent by boating a limit of five trout weighing eight pounds even. Sam caught all his fish using live shrimp fished on the bottom. He was fishing in his secret spot within spitting distance of the ramp that no one knows (wink-wink).

Yale Coleman is happily displaying a three pound speck which easily took the big fish pot. Although he is displaying a can of "Sprite", there is no truth to the rumor that he has been signed by a major sponsor for the tournaments.

For the second tournament in a row Greg Hall won the redfish side bet. Angry mumblings are circulating that if Greg wins the side bet in November, he will be banned from competing in any more tournaments this year.  The November tournament will be held at the Bagdad Yacht Club and is the last tournament for the season. As you can see by the teeth (Greg's) this was one happy fisherman. Greg Hall weighed in the largest Founder caught (okay the only Flounder caught) during the tournament to win the side bet.

Kevin Ryan caught the Sheepshead on a mirolure while fishing for Trout. Although he pled his case very well, the club still voted that this was not a "Sheepstrout" and could not be weighed in.

Ken Cube needed a net to display his catch of five Trout. He weighed in a total of ten pounds two ounces to lock up first place in the tournament.

Believe it or not this 12 ounce Flounder was the only Flounder caught in the last two tournaments. Although it was small, it was big enough to win the side bet which had rolled over from the July tournament.

Yale Coleman displays a two pound eight ounce speck that he boated during the Saturday heat wave. Although not a great size it was the biggest Trout caught that day and took the big fish pot.

Although the temperature neared one hundred degrees, Walt still managed to boat a limit of five fish. The catch weighed seven pounds even and were all caught using Storm lures.

It only takes two fish to win both the big trout and largest Redfish side bet and Kurt Hammerschmidt proceeded to do just that. His two and a half pound Trout and four and a half pound Redfish swept the money during the tournament.

Cal Kingry weighed in this six pound ten ounce red to take the redfish side bet. After numerous rollovers the prize money was more than Cal got for his birthday.

Gerald Buckner Won the big fish pot with a two pound twelve ounce speck. His combined catch was enough to win the tournament

Sam Wolfe won the tournament with these two specks weighing a total of three pounds three ounces. Hurricanes Bonnie and Charlie combined with an extreme low pressure front to put the fish off their feed. That is our story and we are sticking to it.

Due to Mike Gaines having boat troubles shortly after the start of the tournament he limped back to the dock and went home. However the one speck he caught happened to be the large fish of the day. John Ramsey is displaying Mike's trout after it was prepared for a proper burial ceremony, yum, yum.

Walt Fink (L) took the big fish pot with a three pound, eight ounce Speck. Dave Frazier (R) won the tournament with four fish weighing four pounds, thirteen ounces. Photos at the weigh-in are not available due to a slight problem of high winds, lightning, and torrential rains. Other than that, and being out of the water by 8:30 AM, it was a great day.

Please note that this is NOT an April Fools day joke. Yale Coleman, (he's the man), actually won a tournament. Yale boated a LIMIT of five trout weighing a total of nine pounds eleven ounces. Yale had been seen using a bright pink Bass Assassin lure, but it is not confirmed if that was the only lure he used. Yale has stated that he will be available at the June meeting to describe his new found technique for catching trout, and will sign selected photos for all his admirers.

David Frazier boated this seven pound two ounce Speck while fishing with a top water lure west of the ramp. He also managed to win the tournament with a total catch of 13.04 pounds.

Don Suarez won the "Big Fish" side bet by boating what was reported to be a fourteen pound Spanish Mackerel. Reports from the weigh master was that it was closer to fourteen OUNCES.
In either case it was big enough to take the pot.

This Redfish which swallowed a live shrimp that Ed Frazier happened to have weighed  two pounds ten ounces. Live shrimp was the bait of choice during this tournament. Most of the fish caught, including Ed's limit of five Trout, were boated by using shrimp.
